A newborn session at home sweet home.
This little one had the absolute best big pup siblings. They both decided to make an appearance in most of the photos. They were simply the sweetest. How can you beat furry friends + babies together?
We hung out at typical spots throughout home, including living room, bedroom, and a little in the nursery. There is something so much more comfy + nostalgic about capturing your little babe's first weeks at home. I could do these every day.
It was a beautiful sunny, blue skies, Iowa summer day. This family packed along some kites, their favorite local pizza (Paglias), some class coke bottles and we headed to the park together. Of course, they had to eat the pizza while it was still warm (and full bellies are always better for kids!). We walked over to an open grassy area and had fun flying the kites. A session that was a fun family memory + experience. No forced smiles. All smiles captured here were b/c of pure joy + happiness.
Maternity sessions don't have to include maxi dresses and fields (of course they can, and that is still beautiful btw). But it's also ok to want a more relaxed homey vibe
During the planning process, we decided we wanted to include a sweet little mama/daughter tea party (this part included wooden cups and french delicacies), however we did enjoy legit muffins at the end. We also planned for family cuddles in bed, with polaroids and headed to the living room for a dance party.
Big sis was entertained throughout, so the session felt more like a morning hang. We captured sweet, tender moments and also fun, higher energy moments filled with "Let it Go" karaoke.
